Railway Kingdom in Prague in the business complex Angel City was opened July 1, 2009 and has gradually expanded. Today it covers an area of more than 3100 square meters. And what you see here? Of course, hundreds of meters of track and dozens of model trains. With a model train, you can ride to Jested tower, Karlstejn Castle or Prague Castle. All trains run according to time schedule. Outside of model trains you can see models of cars, models of important buildings and places in Czech Republic, you can experience the atmosphere of the alternation of day and night.

There is also cool children’s corner. This is a surprising amount of toys, car simulator, or even gaming console X BOX. The cinema can watch the big and small programs with a railway theme where among other interesting things you can learn from the history of rail transport. Attraction for visitors will surely be an area of 114 m2 separate exhibition of urban model of Prague on a scale of 1:1000. Why attraction? The model is supplemented by a new special audio-visual technology. Using cameras so visitors can zoom in and see individual buildings, urban areas, historical monuments. On your own eyes you can see the development of Prague from the Romanesque period to the present.

An interesting final destination for you, lovers of model trains, could be our invitation to a restaurant Výtopna right on Wenceslas Square No.56 which is just a step from our Bohemia Apartments Prague Wenceslas Square Residence. Sitting here will bring you an unusual experience. The tables are surrounded by 400 meters long track, after which move trains passing through various villages, tunnels and bridges. And because the track leads in the middle of each table, ordered drinks and snacks brings a train (ideal concept how to save on live personal :-). The restaurant is air-conditioned place and there are smokers and nonsmokers.

Not only model trains lovers but also lovers of a good food enjoy Czech cuisine in particular. Will find a fun with your children. Children’s menu is in the form of coloring book and your kids can paint them if they want.

Der Flying Scotsman befährt die East Coast Main Line. Die Verbindung entstand aus den Strecken dreier Bahngesellschaften. Der Abschnitt von London bisDoncaster gehörte ursprünglich zur Great Northern Railway. Die North Eastern Railway baute den Abschnitt von Doncaster bis Berwick, der Streckenabschnitt in Schottland gehörte den North British Railway. Durch Verbesserungen an der Infrastruktur konnten die Reisezeiten laufend verkürzt werden. Die heutige Route im Bereich der North Eastern Railway wurde 1877 eröffnet, ein Jahr später wurde der Kopfbahnhof in York durch einen Durchgangsbahnhof ersetzt. 1906 wurde in Newcastle eine Brücke über den Tyne eröffnet, dadurch entfiel das Zurückdrücken der Züge in den dortigen Kopfbahnhof. In den Jahren nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurden die Gleise bis 1977 umfassend erneuert. 1983 wurde die Strecke bei Selby zur Umfahrung eines Bergbaugebiets verlegt. Die East Coast Main Line wurde bis 1991 elektrifiziert.

Der Sammlerwert der heutigen Modelleisenbahngegenstän Vnde steigt wegen der großen Auflagen, sinkender Sammlerzahlen und einer vielfach sehr guteerfügbarkeit (zum Beispiel über Internetauktionshäuser) jedoch kaum noch. Wenige, vorwiegend ältere, wenig verbreitete Objekte und Objekte in überdurchschnittlichen gutem oder einwandfrei restauriertem Zustand, erzielen jedoch immer noch hohe Preise.

Der Umbau oder Selbstbau von Modelleisenbahn, Waggons oder Zubehör hat weltweit an Stellenwert verloren, vorwiegend wegen des sehr großen Angebots an industriell hergestellten Produkten, aber auch infolge von Änderungen in der Berufsbildung, weg von den handwerklichen Berufen (Feinmechaniker, Elektroniker...). Hingegen ist der Heimanlagenbau, der Modulbau, wie auch der Bau von Anlagen in den Moellheisenbanvereinend immer noch weit verbreitet.

HORNBY 4472 FLYING SCOTSMAN

The LNER Class A3 Pacific steam locomotive No. 4472 Flying Scotsman (originally No. 1472) was built in 1923 for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) at Doncaster Works to a design of H.N. Gresley. It was employed on long-distance express trains on the LNER and its successors, British Railways Eastern and North-Eastern Regions, notably on the 10am London to Edinburgh Flying Scotsman train service after which it was named.

The locomotive is notable for having set two world records for steam traction; becoming the first steam locomotive to be officially authenticated at reaching 100 miles per hour (160.9 km/h) on 30 November 1934, and then setting a record for the longest non-stop run by a steam locomotive when it ran 422 miles (679 km) on 8 August 1989 while in Australia.

Retired from regular service in 1963 after covering 2,076,000 miles (3,341,000 km), Flying Scotsman gained considerable fame in preservation under the ownership of Alan Pegler, William McAlpine, Tony Marchington and finally the National Railway Museum. As well as hauling enthusiast specials in the United Kingdom, the locomotive toured extensively in the United States (from 1969 to 1973) and Australia (from 1988 to 1989). Flying Scotsman has been described as the world's most famous steam locomotive.
